I’m Dr. Emily Carr—a poet, joyous revolutionary arts educator, and creative innovator committed to the power of metaphor—to reshape our narratives, spark resilience, and seed joy. To astonish and surprise. To polish the stars.

Like the fruit cocktail tree, I grow strange and beautiful fruits from hybrid roots in storytelling, design, and wellness—among them a Writing & Resilience Workshop that borrows the HIIT model from athletic training, and a Wheel of Misfortune that channels the wisdom of Tarot and poetry into the World’s Best Bad Advice.

I cross-pollinate art forms and audiences —bringing poetry to beer festivals, storytelling to medical schools, and Octavia Butler to banking leaders. My aspiration? To jolt folks into poetry they didn’t know they had inside them—a Vitamin B shot for the soul.
